FRATI GROUP CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF ACTIVITY
On 10 June 2011 Mr. Luigi Frati, President and founder of the homonymous Group, is celebrating fifty years of activity together with his relatives and close collaborators, expressing his sincere thanks to the workers and all those have collaborated for development of the Group, that now consists of following factories situated in:

This is a complete group of companies that produce wood-based panels such as both raw and melamine chipboards and MDF, furniture panels for doors industry; resins and glues both for panels and furniture industry; machineries for woodworking and finally the transport activity of company Valori S.p.A.
In 2010 the Group had got the consolidated sales proceeds of about 243.000.000 € with 808 employees and, in spite of the business trend, in 2011 the sales are increasing of two figures percentages.
Mr. Luigi Frati was born in Dosolo on the 12 June 1935 of millers family and he very soon went in for own transports company. Owing to this activity we started to cooperate with several plywood producers that were increasing in the Southern Mantua area thanks to the good quantity of poplar wood.
He was keen on mechanics and started to study the machines and the manufacturing.
In 1961, when he was only 26 years old, he decided the selling of haulage firm and invested the proceeds of the sale in a factory for production of plywood; this new plant was built on an area transferred free of charge by Pomponesco municipality.
So the company Frati Luigi S.p.A was founded and began its history and today, 50 years later, the Group has become sector leaders in Europe.
In 1976 happened another important turning point in the company history: the beginning of chipboard faced panels production and immediately the melamine panels production.
Mr. Luigi Frati guessed the decline of plywood panel; a new product was invading the market: the Chipboard.
Finally in 1980 he flung himself into the production of MDF and lacquered panel, completing the range of wood-base panels.
As years go, the daughters Luisa and Giovanna, the son Dante and the son-in-low Alberto Tarana supported the father and today they represent the force and the future of the Group
The History is going on: in the same month of fiftieth celebration, the company is signing a contract for the amount of twenty-two millions Euro for purchasing of new press for production of MDF thin continuous chipboard.
The celebrations have taken place according to “Frati Style”: no uproar and a lot of gratefulness to all collaborators, with Slogan: Proud of being.
The President takes the opportunity to thank all those who supported him during this long way.
