Innovation
The continual investment in research and development of the Frati Group places us at the top of the industry, not just in the fields of decorative features and finishing proposed to our clientele but also in field of the particleboard itself; that even though it remains unaltered from the point of view of quality, is proposed (thanks to new ‘know-how’ applied) in the variations requested today from the market, from E1 to Carb class, up to 4 stars.
FSC
FSC certification is granted by the Forest Stewardship Council: an international non-profit and non-governmental organization. Its aim is to promote, all over the world, the management of forests and plantations which would protect the natural environment, benefit both the workers and the local populations, be of economic value and which would also be in line with the principles of sustainable development.
FSC statutory labelling allows end-users and enterprises to identify wood and wood-products coming from forests correctly managed according to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
PEFC
PEFC (Pan European Forest Council) certification is a recognised verification procedure that leads to the issuing of a certificate that attests that the type of management of wood responds to the determined requisites of “sustainability”. PEFC is the European alternative to FSC.
CARB
CARB certification attests that raw particleboards manufactured by the company conform to California’s regulation CCR 17, 93120.2 issued by CARB (California Air Resources Board) with regard to low emission of formaldehyde in wood-based materials.
Commencing from 2009, this regulation has provided the change from phase 1 (Carb Phase 1) to phase 2 (Carb Phase 2) with more restrictions in formaldehyde emission values.
Our Company has already conformed itself to phase 2 (Carb Phase 2) which, starting from 01/01/2011, sets the limit of emission in an ASTM chamber of 0,009 ppm.
These values must be respected under the control of a third party institute (TPC) recognised by the State of California; this institute visits quarterly to inspect production.
4 STARS
The CQA – Formaldehyde 4 Stars demands that panels are made in order to satisfy both the European limits (E1), verified through method of 1 m3 chamber (EN 717-1), and Japanese limits. In fact, the Building Standard Law on Sick Houses, Japanese law n° 34 of 1st July 2003, establishes a classification of panels depending on the quantity of formaldehyde emission. On this basis it fixes limits on the quantity of panels that can be used in a certain environment, in relation to its volume and characteristics (i.e. air change).
