TECHNICAL ASPECTS AND PRINTING PROCESSES


How do you set up a file? What are its own features? There are different ways for setting up of a file for decorative printing:
  • Acquiring any kind of pictures by means of a special scanner.
  • Taking a photo by means of cameras used by professionals.
  • Manually, by means of suitable software.
  • It’s easy to realize that you need sophisticated equipments in order to set up and manage this file, which consists of special type and big sizes.
  • For this reason Astrid has installed a new big scanner. Now we’d be able to carry out all latest creations too.
  
 

Procedure for file setup – 1st phase:

  • Search of material for scanning.
  • Acquisition of picture through scanner.
      
 

Procedure for file setup – 2nd phase:


Development by means of a photo retouching software, that includes:

  • File check and correction of possible imperfections.
  • Colour and contrast enhancements.
  • Break up of acquired file in single units that have the same size of plank
  
 

Procedure for file setup – 3rd phase 3:

  • Application of colour profile suitable for printing.
  • Rasterization of finished product
  • Printing of obtained sample in order to compare it with the starting sample
  
 

File features:

  • Full Scale: 1:1, that’s life-size just as the plank size.
  • Definition: 300 DPI
  • File format: TIFF
  
 

How long does it take to set up a file?

  • The average time needed to set up a file is approximately 5 working days.
  • It takes longer time in case of big working loads and carrying out of special motifs or patterns that require longer processing.
  • The times needed to find the material to be scanned cannot be quantified, and for this reason they aren’t included.
  
 

What are standard decoratives? And How many?:

  • The only standard decoratives have been published in the web site www.nextfloor.it
  
 

Decorations and customizations:

  • A decoration can be dedicated to a specific exhibition or event, i.e. one plank with the name of the show or event. The logo is the unique symbol that characterizes a company or the distinguishing mark of a product; far from being a static image, it can evolve over the time, and it’s a real means of communication and one of the basic elements for building of visual identity of same company.
